Alchemy In Floriography

With the exception of the Eryngium, which is watercolour on paper, all of these images are coloured pencil on polyester film. It’s a weird media to work with but it makes the colours really pop. All of these images were put together to form a series, called Alchemy in Floriography, to reflect transformation when linked to their floriography meaning. Floriography is is a wonderful language using flowers and was used as a secret language by the Victorians. I’ve since decided not to use the Tree Peony as it’s a landscape image, and am currently working on the sixth. You can find prints, bone chinaware and tea towels in my Etsy shop at www.Etsy.com/shop/theiagalleries.
